According to the legend, the city of Kiev was founded in the VI-VII century as the capital of the Polans, Slavic tribe. The legendary founders of the city are brothers Kyi, Shchek and Khoryv, as well as their sister Lybid. According to the most accepted version of the Kiev's name origin, the city named in honor of Kyi - Slavic tribal leader and the eldest of the brothers who were the founders of Kiev. The first written mention of the Kiev's name belong to X century. Kiev for the most time of its history, was the capital of the state formations: Kievan Rus, Principality of Kiev, the Ukrainian People's Republic, Ukraine. The main economic sectors of today's Kiev are light and food industry, machine building, metallurgy, chemical industry, aircraft industry (State-owned company "Antonov", 410 Factory of Civil Aviation). The education sector of Kiev includes more than 70 institutions of higher education, most institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine located in Kiev. Urban constructions in Kiev includes XI-XII centuries buildings, XVII-XVIII, as well as numerous buildings built in XIX century.
